Nails – Judging Criteria

Entries in the Nails category will be assessed by top industry professionals. Each participant will be judged fairly within their division (Junior, Master, Professional) and based on the type of work submitted (e.g. salon style, extreme shapes, art, sculpting, etc.).

🔹 1. Structure & Shape

Consistency in length, arch, and apex
Symmetry between all nails
Clean, precise shaping (e.g. square, almond, stiletto, ballerina)

🔹 2. Surface & Smoothness

Smooth nail surface with no bumps, ridges, or visible file marks
Even product application (gel, acrylic, etc.)
Proper thickness and proportions

🔹 3. Cuticle Area & Finish

Clean and detailed work around the cuticle area
No flooding or lifting
Well-blended, seamless product near the cuticle

🔹 4. Color & Design Application

Polish or gel is evenly applied with no streaks or bubbles
Nail art is precise, creative, and well-executed
Design reflects the category (e.g. salon nails, fantasy, hand-painted, 3D art)

🔹 5. Creativity & Artistic Impression (for art categories)

Original concept and high level of creativity
Attention to theme, detail, and design complexity
Harmonious use of color, texture, and embellishments

🔹 6. Cleanliness & Technical Quality

Nails and surrounding skin are clean and well-prepped
No dust, product residue, or visible glue
Work is hygienic and professionally finished

🔹 7. Photo Quality (Online Submissions)

Clear, high-resolution images with good lighting
Multiple angles (top view, side profile, close-up)
No heavy editing or filters that alter the work

Each submission must align with the selected category (e.g. salon nail should not include fantasy elements).
Poor hygiene, lifting, or visible imperfections may lower the score or lead to disqualification.
All work must be original and created solely by the participant.
AI-generated, plagiarized, or edited images will not be accepted.
All work must be the original, unassisted effort of the participant.
